Myron Glade Smith
1938 — 2024
Myron Glade Smith was born September 30, 1938, to Norma May Meacham and Robert Glen Smith on a dairy farm in American Fork. He had five brothers and one sister; Robert, Glen, LeGrande, Stanley, Steven, and RoseMary.
He graduated from American Fork High School in 1956, and in 1957, he married Esther Day in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they had eight delightful children, Laurel, Annette, Myron, Kendell, Melanie, Michael, Angela, Melinda and Benjamin, who treasured his love, laughter, music, and stories.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He especially enjoyed his musical opportunities directing and singing and his service as an ordinance worker at the Bountiful Utah Temple.
Myron worked as a civil servant for forty years. He was a supervisor in the International Logistics Branch. He was grateful to have been treated well with the many countries he worked with including Pakistan, Egypt, Isreal, Singapore, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
The family has resided in Kaysville for the last fifty-three years where they have enjoyed warm interactions with neighbors and ward members.
He is survived by Laurel (Walt) Moyer; Ronnie Madruga; Kendell (Janette) Smith; Melanie (Dave) Richardson, Michael (Lori) Smith; Angie (Robert) Archibald; Minday (Eric) Smith; his 22 grandchildren, and 21 Great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glen Mecham Smith, his daughter Annette Norma Smith Madruga, and his son Benjamin Oliver Smith.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville 13th Ward Chapel, 875 East 200 North, Kaysville, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday September 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St., Kaysville, Utah and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
