Arlie Lee Pittman, Jr.
January 25, 1937 – March 21, 2025
Arlie Lee Pittman Jr., affectionately known as “Junior” by his family and friends, died at the age of 88. Born in Donna, Texas, to Arlie and Louis Pittman, Dad was the youngest of four children. He spent his life bringing humor, kindness, service and a bit of mischief wherever he went.
He was a proud graduate of Texas State University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He followed his passion for teaching and moved to Brigham City, Utah, to teach at the Intermountain Indian School. As a Science and Business teacher, dad made a profound impact on his students, not only inside the classroom but also as a constant presence at sporting events, dances, and social gatherings. His love for his students and their culture remained strong, long after the school closed its doors.
In 1970, Dad married Rose Ann Jensen, and together, they built a life full of adventure. Two years later, he adopted his two sons, Curtis and Chris. He was more than a father–he was a coach, a mentor, a scoutmaster, and a role model. He taught his sons that anything was possible with hard work and perseverance.
He took our family on vacation to many places, from his beloved Texas to Glacier National Park, the Space Needle in Washington, and the Houston Space Center, just to name a few. Boating, waterskiing and camping were also things we enjoyed. However, some of his happiest memories were the motorcycle trips he took with mom, her sisters, and their husbands. Those trips were filled with adventure and he spoke of them often.
One of dad’s greatest gifts are his friends. He had a close-knit group of 15 men who were as much family as they were friends. Together, they fished, camped, hunted, and supported each other through life’s highs and lows. Their fishing trips to Alaska, Wyoming, and Idaho were legendary, and he would often return with fresh-caught halibut, hosting family cookouts with homemade french fries.
Dad was preceded in death by his both parents, his brother JC Pittman, and sister JoAnn Thompson, and grandson Brady Pittman.
He is survived by his sister, Wanda Freasier, His sons Curtis and (Edna) Pittman, Chris Pittman; His grandchildren, Ryan and (Chelsie) Pittman, Megan and (Colton Seiter) and Ariel and (Korey) Blundy, 10 great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Arlie’s Life will be held at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East Brigham City, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Dad requested casual, come-as-you-are service. Just bring your love, your memories, and your stories.
