Janice Spencer Felix

Apr 9, 2025

Janice Spencer Felix, known affectionately as Jan or Granny, was a beacon of resilience, her spirit unyielding in the face of life’s challenges. Born on August 14, 1928, in Randolph, UT to Charles “Blaine” and Letha Spencer. Janice’s charismatic nature was evident from her early years. She was a Sponsorette in high school and was voted “Queen of Hearts” during her sorority years at Utah State University. Janice’s spirited nature carried her through life, her strength and energy often manifesting in her diverse hobbies, which ranged from painting, sewing, and knitting, to more adventurous pursuits like hiking, swimming, skiing, and spelunking. She also found joy in playing bridge with her friends.

Janice’s talents were not confined to her hobbies. She was a dedicated secretary at Bonneville High School until her retirement. Yet, her most cherished accomplishment was her family. She raised four children and took an active part in raising her grandson, Nick Felix. Her vibrant personality and unwavering love left an indelible mark on their lives. Janice was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she loved doing temple work in her later years. She was also an active member of the Utah Daughters of Pioneers organization.

“Whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day” (Alma 36:3). This verse greatly reflects the life of Janice, who always had an unwavering faith in God. Janice is survived by her children, Chris (Brent) Saxton, Spencer (Kathy) Felix, and Chet Felix, and her grandchildren Natalie, Shelly, Kate, Carly, Wayne, Mitch, Bryce, Nick, Talia, Colby, and Adison. She also is survived by 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. She is preceded in death by her husband Arlo Felix, her sister Margaret Larsen, her brother Jerry Spencer, her daughter Becky Mildon, and her grandchildren Cody and Hailey Felix.
