He was born March 19, 1932, and grew up in Smithfield, Utah, a son of David William Ellett and Winona Bingham Ellett. He married his sweetheart Nancy Marie England in 1950, They were later sealed in the Logan Temple.

He worked and retired at Hill Air Force Base, moved to Clearfield where he made many lifelong friends. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved serving the lord and held many callings. He and his wife served a mission at the Ogden Cannery which they enjoyed. With his desire to work hard and help others, they extended their mission, they also served a mission at the Ogden Temple, bringing them much joy and blessings.

Mahlon loved the outdoors, hunting, golfing, and fishing while enjoying with friends. Bear Lake was where he liked to be, spending time relaxing and teaching everyone how to waterski. Most of all, he loved being with his family, he took pleasure in having the prettiest green lawn in the neighborhood and his vegetable garden was amazing which he liked sharing with everyone around. He enjoyed getting Nancy a new car even if the present one wasn’t really out of warranty,

As the grandchildren, great grandchildren and prosperity multiplied, he always was their adviser and supporter in their lives. His ability to plan and prepare ahead provided a blessing to many in his extended family. His personal prayer was always for love and togetherness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Belva and her husband Dean Kent, brother David and his wife Barbara, and three grandsons, one brother, a son in law Donn Stephenson.
