Allan Harry Peek

Aug 4, 2025

November 22, 1940 — July 25, 2025

Allan Harry Peek passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by family. Born November 22, 1940, to Irene Hadley of Kanesville and Harry L. Peek of South Weber, Allan was the eldest of six siblings and was proud of his roots as a “turkey farmer.”

He graduated from Weber High School in 1959 and attended Weber State College, where he participated in theater and music. In 1964, Allan began a 39-year firefighting career with the Ogden City Fire Department. He later served as Fire Marshal and eventually Fire Chief of Layton City, where he helped expand emergency services to meet the needs of a growing population. He retired in 2003 to care for his beloved wife, Susan P. Brown Peek.

Allan and Sue shared 30 wonderful years together until her passing in 2013. They loved traveling–especially road trips, cruises, and a memorable fishing trip to Alaska. They also enjoyed working on their home and yard and spending time with their family.

Allan was a devoted father and stepfather to six children: A. Kelly (Terri) Peek, Todd (Tammy) Peek, Tony (Connie) Peek, Jon (Geena) Peek, Susana (Michael) Feightner, and Tamara Courtney. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue and grandson Brandon Peek, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends and loved ones.

Allan will be remembered for his humor, hard work, and the love he gave so freely to his family and community. His family wishes to thank the caregivers and friends at Sundridge Assisted Living in Roy and Applegate Hospice who provided such great care. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Leavitt’s Mortuary 836 36th Street in Ogden.
