Dianne Rauzi Gibson

A happy reunion, 56 years in the making, happened on August 5th, 2025 as Dianne Rauzi Gibson ended her mortal journey and was reunited with her beloved husband Lyman.
Dianne was born on September 24th, 1948 in Ogden Utah to Ernest and Melba Rauzi, the youngest of 4 children. She loved spending time at the family farm in West Weber and considered that her second home. She attended schools in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School in 1966.
She was sealed to her husband Lyman in the Salt Lake Temple on September 8th, 1967 and they made their home in West Weber while he attended school. Lyman was killed in an accident in January of 1969. Her daughter Marci was born 5 months later and she spent the rest of her life being the best mother she could be while waiting to be back with him.
She worked to put herself through school and graduated from Weber State College with a teaching degree. She later earned her master’s degree from Utah State University. She taught PE and history and coached for many years at Roy Junior High and Rocky Mountain Junior High schools. Her favorite part of her work was getting to know and helping her students who she loved dearly.
She traveled a lot over the years and loved seeing new places, but anyone who knew her at all knew her happy place was Disneyland. She was the happiest when planning a new trip to California and her favorite thing to do was to introduce others to the joy she felt there.
Family meant everything to her. She was always wanting to be with her parents and in-laws, siblings, daughter and son-in law, and grandchildren especially for holidays and special occasions.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marci and Jason Dabb as well as sisters Eileen (Ron) and Judy and grandchildren Kassidy (Brandan), Jaycie (Dean) and Nathan (Amanda) as well as countless other family and friends who she loved dearly.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Homestead assisted living center and Homestead Hospice service, especially Maddie, for their love and care for Dianne this last year as well as those caring for her spiritually in the Rexburg 20th Branch. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease but they made it bearable and loved her throughout her time there.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah. A 9 a.m. graveside service will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025 at West Weber Cemetery, 4532 West 950 North, Ogden, Utah.
Dianne loved helping others, in lieu of flowers please consider donating to a favorite charity in her memory.
