Sondra Twede Poll (“Remaw”)

October 17, 1947 — August 8, 2025
With deep sadness, we report the passing of Sondra Twede Poll (“Remaw”), 77, of South Weber. She passed away Friday, August 8, 2025, from causes related to dementia.
Sondra was born October 17, 1947, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Hugh Revere and Wilma Holladay Twede. She was raised in West Point, Utah, and graduated from Clearfield High School, then, later, from Weber State College.
Sondra married Brent G. Poll on December 29, 1967, in Ogden, Utah. They had three children. She was a long-time resident of South Weber, where she developed many deep friendships with members of the community, most notably with members of the extensive Poll family in the area.
Most of her time and joy in life seemed to come simply from her relationships and service to others. However, Sondra also enjoyed her weekly dinner (the old Utah Noodle Parlor in Ogden was a favorite) and movie dates with her husband; the showtimes of those movies becoming earlier over the years, from the late 9:00 p.m. showing, to the 7:00 p.m. showing, to the matinee. She also enjoyed travel (Epcot Center was a favorite), live music, walks, exercise classes, garage sales, attending activities of her grandchildren, and watching the Jazz and Yankees play (Aaron Judge was her favorite player).
For much of her career, Sondra worked for Hill Air Force Base in various management positions. Beyond the relationships with coworkers she developed, she seemed to find the most meaning in her role for a time of teaching principles of “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and “First Things First” to work teams.
Sondra was a life-long active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held various service callings in her ward and stake, most notably Relief Society President and recorder of patriarchal blessings. She loved to visit the sisters in her ward, especially the elderly sisters, both within her formal roles and after being released. Even later when starting to struggle with memory, she would still routinely find her way to check in on some of those sisters.
Sondra is survived by her husband, Brent; daughter, Stacy (Aaron) Borrowman; son, Justin Poll; son, Jed (Jeni) Poll; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Doug (Pam) Twede; and sister-in-law, Janice Twede. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Darrel Twede.
The family thanks Cornerstone Caregiving, Inspiration Hospice, Avamere at Mountain Ridge Care Center, and McKay-Dee Hospital for their support over these past few months.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints General Missionary Fund.
