Carol Ann Tucker-Jeffries

Carol Ann Tucker-Jeffries, better known as Ms. Carol or “Madame C.J.”, ascended into eternal peace on the 22nd of August, 2025. Born in Ogden, Utah, on December 23, 1951, to Jessie and Thelma Tucker. From her youth, she was blessed with charismatic charm. She was a beacon of adventure, always ready to take on the world and its myriad of experiences, and a source of humor, quick wit and laughter.
Carol had an unshakeable bond with her birthplace, Ogden, although she did spend a memorable decade living in Oakland. Her professional journey was as fascinating as her personality, with Carol worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. In her youth, she was a woman of faith, her strong ties to the New Zion Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, sang in the young adult and women’s choir, and participated in various youth activities, bore testimony to her devotion. “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” (Psalm 122:1) This verse, so relevant to her faith, reflects Carol’s spirited approach to serving her church and community. She also practiced Buddhism.
Although Carol had many accomplishments, what mattered most to her was her family. She loved the young people and she had a wonderful relationship with her cousins, who referred to her as “Cuz”. Known for her fashionable flair, she was indeed a girly girl at heart. Not one to shy away from the spotlight, Carol also lent her voice to the choir at Ben Lomond High School where she was a loyal Scot and found joy in the Drama Department. Her vivacious personality and unwavering loyalty made her a beloved figure in her community.
Carol is survived by her loving siblings, Sheila (Thomas) Tucker-White, Verlira “Kitty” (Elwood) Stewart, and Johnny Lee (Renee) Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Thelma Tucker.
A visitation will be held on Friday, the 29th of August, 2025, from 10:30-11:30 am at New Zion Baptist Church, 2935 Lincoln Ave. Ogden, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 am at the Church.
In memory of our beloved Carol, we invite you to share your stories, photos, and cherished memories of her on her memorial page. Let us all come together to celebrate the life of Carol Ann Tucker-Jeffries; a woman of faith, a beacon of laughter, and unapologetically Carol and a beloved family member.
