Dec 11, 2025

January 22, 1933 – December 7, 2025

Hazel Anne Purdue passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 92. She is survived by her children Holly; Janica and her husband Jordan; Michelle; and Tom and his wife Kari; her grandchildren Jacob Boyce, Sarah Wilson, Rachel Nipper, Solomon Boyce, Jackie Winn, Kaylee and Becky Barnes, and Mac, Miles, and Sawyer Purdue; and her great-grandchildren Kenyon, Braxtin, Brielle, Bo, Elizabeth, Lila, Andrew, Luke, Willow, Maximus, and Scarlet. She was preceded in death by her parents Alberta and Deloss Williams, sisters Lavora, Doris, and Katherine, her husband Thomas Purdue, sons-in-law Dan Koford and Bill Parsons, granddaughter Allegra Winn, and grandson William Newel Boyce.

Hazel married her sweetheart, Tom Purdue, in 1954, and together they built a life rooted in faith, family, music, and service. Brigham City, Utah, was their home for over four decades. Following Tom’s passing in 2001, Hazel remained full of life, humor, and devotion to her family.

A gifted educator with a Master’s Degree, Hazel taught elementary students for 40 years, leaving a lasting impact on hundreds of children. She was active in professional organizations and served as Utah chapter president of Alpha Delta Kappa. A talented musician, she played piano and organ for church services from age 12 well into her later years. Hazel’s creativity extended to watercolor painting, crafts, gardening, travel, and collecting.

Her playful humor, bright spirit, and faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ touched all who knew her. Hazel often joked she planned to live to 110, but her family takes comfort knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones.
