Charles William Martin
Charles William Martin, age 81, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Plain City, Utah. Son of Beulah Ross Martin and Walter Martin, Charlie was born in Franklin County, Ohio. He graduated Newark High School, Newark, Ohio, in 1962 and entered the Navy. Following his time in the service, he was employed by Newark Air Force Station. Charlie married Robin E. Martin in 1973 and they were blessed with two sons. In 1982, Charlie accepted a job as an engineer with Rockwell International in Ogden, Utah, at the Little Mountain Test Facility. So Charlie, Robin, and two small babies moved across the U.S. to begin a new adventure. Boeing later acquired Rockwell’s Space and Guidance Division so Charlie worked for Boeing until he retired in 2016.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Beverly Martin; and brother’s James, Gary, and Jonathan “John” Martin; Donald and George Grigsby.
Charlie is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Robin E. Martin and his sons, Jedediah J. Martin, Joshua W. (wife-Tyler) Martin, brother, John “Jack” (wife-Janet) Martin, sister, Barbara Martin Greene, and a grandson Andrew W. Martin.
Charlie spent much of his youth in the Licking County Children’s Home. He joined the Boy Scouts at age 11 and later became a Scout Master, leading troops to many life-changing adventures on the Obabika Circuit. Charlie taught archery, canoeing, and was an Order of The Arrow Indian dance instructor, presiding over Indian dance programs put on by Camp Falling Rock BSA in Ohio.
Charlie was most cherished for his sincere love of people. A good example of his character was the day he spent 12 hours laying under a stranger’s car in the freezing rain, stopping only to go buy parts at his own expense, just to help a fellow man in need. Charlie traveled much of the world and knew no strangers. He always had a story to tell! He appreciated the beautiful Earth, always pointing out a lovely sunset or delicate flower. His family was precious to him and he especially enjoyed helping with his son Joshua’s company, Everest Construction.
Charlie believed and was comforted by the Bible’s hope of a resurrection. (John 11:21-25)
Above all else, Charlie leaves behind a legacy defined by kindness, a spirit of adventure, and an unwavering love for his family.
A celebration of life to be announced by the family at a later date. Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary of Ogden. Please send condolences and memories and upload special photos to Charlie’s memorial page at www.myers-mortuary.com.
