Karen LaRose Davis
Karen LaRose Davis, born January 30, 1952, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12th, 2025 surrounded by her family. The youngest child of Mary Ilene Elmer and Loren Fred LaRose she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister who was fiercely passionate about her roles and loved her family dearly … her presence will be missed. Karen worked hard to instill in her children family traditions and encourage a bond of love and unity, and we’ll always be grateful.
Karen was born in Roosevelt, Utah, and lived there until the family moved to Ogden for work. She married at 16 to Gordon Terry Orton, and together they had three children: Kim, Kerrie, and Kirk before divorcing in 1978. A short time later, she met the love of her life, Vonn. They married on July 5, 1980, following a brief courtship, then had one child together, Kody. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on October 21, 2014. Vonn and Karen resided in North Ogden and spent more than 45 years together, and in the last ten years they’ve rarely left each other’s side.
Sweetie, thank you for loving me all these years. Thank you for the crazy things you got me to do. Thank you for the kids and grandkids. I’ll love you forever.
Mom, thank you for being our greatest advocate when we needed one. Whether we were right or wrong, you were there to defend. Thank you for showing us to never back down and never give up.
Grandma, there are no words to say how we feel other than we’ll miss you. We’ll miss the nicknames and the fun family parties you worked on so hard…the thought that went into Christmas made every year exciting. We always knew we were loved.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ilene, brothers Loren, Larry, and Garry, and daughter, Kerrie.
She leaves behind her husband, Vonn Tyler Davis, children Kim Stone (Scott), Kirk Orton (Sydnie), Kody Davis (Megan); sister, Joyce (Don) Johnson; grandchildren Kyrstian (Josh), Berkley (Karen), Triston, Jacob (Steff), Ryan, Colton, Lincoln, Emree, Harper; and great grandchildren Oliver and Linley.
Special thanks and love to our niece Karen, who provided Mom such great care, attention and love in the last couple of months of her life.
We’ll miss you and love you much! We know you’ll always be watching out for us … be at peace.
Funeral services for Karen will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints North Ogden 22nd Ward, 900 E 2850 N North Ogden. A viewing will be the evening before, Thursday, December 18th from 6-8 pm, and prior to the funeral from 10:15-10:45 am.
Internment at Ben Lomond Cemetery. Services entrusted to Myers Mortuary in Ogden.
