Jean Anderson Ellsworth
Our beloved mother, Jean Anderson Ellsworth, returned to her Heavenly Father on December 13, 2025. A woman of boundless creativity, devotion, and love, she filled the world with warmth and beauty. Mom was born April 30, 1936, in Ogden, Utah, to Frank W. and Florine Stoops Anderson. Her life was marked by achievement, family and faith. She graduated from Weber High School, Utah State University, and Brigham Young University. She served as a class officer and coordinated reunions for over 60 years. Mom and Dad, Arnold T. Ellsworth, were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple on September 12, 1957. They had four beautiful daughters: Susan, Marsha, Rosalie and Joan. Mom supported Dad in his early career as a seminary teacher in Ogden, and then later in the military, and sometimes was both mother and father when Dad was out of the country on duty. Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in every women’s auxiliary, a temple ordinance worker in Ogden Utah and Bern Switzerland, a family history mission and on a mission with Dad at Martin’s Cove, Wyoming. She loved girls camp, girls’ sports programs, producing musical programs for the Hooper Utah Stake, and caring for elderly friends and neighbors. Her hands were rarely still–she poured her creativity into porcelain dolls, French hand sewing, quilting, miniatures, upholstery, woodworking, tole painting, and more. Through her talents and service, she blessed countless lives. Mom was a constant learner. Educated as a teacher, she also earned her master’s degree and branched out of her comfort zone to obtain her real estate license. Mom was also an ardent family history enthusiast and belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom is survived by her daughters Susan (Lynn) Coon, Marsha (Bob) Turner, Rosalie Ellsworth, and Joan (Rob) Birch; her sister Carol Buckner; and seven amazing grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold T. Ellsworth, her grandson Richard Coon and her parents, Frank and Florine.
