Nephi Dean “Dino” Sant

Nephi Dean Sant passed away peacefully at McKay Dee hospital on Saturday, 29 June 2025, ending his suffering with a smile. He was surrounded by his wife, Lorri, daughter and son-in-law Tessa and Kevin, and lifelong friend Rick Beyer. Dean was born to Thomas Nephi Sant and Merle Stocks on October 21st, 1945, at Hill Air Force Base, Davis County, Utah. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1963, attended Weber State College and served in the U. S. Army Reserves. He worked at Marquardt Corporation as a Tool and Cutter Grinder, Rick Beyer Auto Sales, Fly-in Driller in Montana, owned and operated Kar Korner Used Car Dealership, taxi driver for Yellow Cab and retired from Petersen, Inc. as a Tool and Cutter Grinder. He Married Carolyn Terry in 1967 and they had one son, Cory Dean Sant. They were later divorced. He married Debra Sheets in 1972 and they had one son, Michael Ryan Sant. They were later divorced. He married Lorene Marie Gold in 1983 and they had one daughter, Tessa Lea Sant Coombs. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sandra Lee Herbert and Sarah Lou “Sally” Cottle. He is survived by his wife, Lorene and three children, Cory Dean (Mindy Mae) of St. Mary’s, GA; Michael Ryan (Chrissy Wontorsky) of San Diego, CA and Tessa Lea (Kevin Coombs) of Roy, UT and several stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. “Dino” as he was called, was a true bright light. He was the best joke-teller; he loved to make people laugh and always had a great story to tell. He lived to see his loved ones enjoying his home grown and homemade Sunday Dinners. He ensured his neighbors, friends, and even strangers would not go hungry after he was gone by teaching his daughter the art of Gardening. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at his home in Farr West, UT on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10:30 to 12:00. As his remains have been donated to the University of Utah Medical School at his request, please don’t send flowers.
