Kathleen Ward Crawford

Kathleen Ward Crawford, lovingly known as Mom and Grandma, passed away on July 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and compassion. Born on April 27, 1949 in Ogden, Utah, Kathleen lived a life marked by empathy, love for her family, and an unwavering devotion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Wherever her life took her, from Rexburg, Idaho to Clovis, New Mexico, Kathleen had a unique ability to turn each house into a warm, welcoming home. Her knack for singing, sewing, painting, gardening, floral arrangements, and decorating for wedding receptions reflected her creative spirit.
Kathleen was a member of the North Ogden 10th Ward, displaying an inspiring level of commitment to her faith. Her compassion and empathy were truly remarkable, making her a cherished member of her church community. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word, and her family was her world, the core around which everything else revolved. Kathleen’s loving nature was evident in the joy and comfort she brought to everyone around her.
Kathleen attended Ricks College and it was there that she met the love of her life Jay Crawford. They were married on February 20, 1969 in the Logan Utah Temple. Their bond was a testament to their mutual dedication and love they shared. Together, they raised seven wonderful children, Randall, Kevin, Paul, Cory, Melissa, Marilyn, and Tiffany. Kathleen’s family extended beyond her immediate family, as she deeply loved and was loved by her 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Her love for her family was the guiding light of her life, and her loss is deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband, Jay, and their children, Randall (Jennifer) Crawford, Kevin (Mylea) Crawford, Paul (Michelle) Crawford, Cory (Mari) Crawford, Melissa (Daniel) Larsen, Marilyn (Phil) Randall, Tiffany Crawford and her older brother Ray L. (Gloria) Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Leland and Marie Noorda Ward, a brother, Leland Ward, and two sisters, Marilyn Ward and Dawna Hastie. As we mourn her loss, we are comforted by the words from the scriptures, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).
A viewing will be held on Friday, 11 July 2025 from 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, and on Saturday, 12 July 2025 from 9:30-10:30 am at the LDS Chapel at 1791 N. 600 E. North Ogden. Funeral services will follow at 11 am.
