Betty Lalli Johnson

June 26, 1937 – July 8, 2025
Betty Lalli Johnson, age 88, returned to her heavenly home on July 8, 2025, slipping peacefully into the loving arms of her beloved husband, Ron. She was surrounded by family and close friends as she departed this life, following complications from a brief illness.
Born on June 26, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, to Joseph and Levca Mark Lalli, Betty cherished her childhood in Ogden and spent many joyful days at her grandparents’ home on Wilson Lane. A proud graduate of Ogden High School, Class of 1955, Betty went on to attend Weber State University. In 1956 her college friend, Barbara Johnson, introduced her to her brother, Ron. Their connection sparked a long-distance romance while Ron served in the Army, and after two years of writing letters, they were married in Ogden in 1958.
Betty began her career with the Internal Revenue Service in 1956, where she served with dedication and distinction for 37 years. Throughout her career, she received numerous commendations for her exceptional work and leadership, and she especially enjoyed traveling across the country to train fellow IRS employees.
In 1964, Ron and Betty built their home on Madison Avenue– a place they lovingly crafted into a warm and welcoming haven with a beautifully manicured yard. Together, they embraced a life of service and community, actively participating in organizations such as the Jaycees, Footprinters, Lions Club, Eagles, and the Elks Lodge. Their shared passion for travel took them on countless adventures, from cross-country trips in their camper to international travel and cherished time at their timeshare properties.
Although Ron and Betty did not have children of their own, they poured their love and affection into their nieces and nephew, celebrating life’s milestones and holidays by their side. They also adored spending time with their young neighbor, A.J., who held a special place in their hearts.
After Ron’s unexpected passing in 2003, Betty continued to give back lo the community. She ran the Elks Lodge Bingo program for I3 years and played a vital role in both the Benevolent, Patriotic Order of Does and the Ladies of Elks. She was deeply honored to be nominated as a member or the Elks and later was proudly named “Elk of the Year.” Betty was also a dedicated member of the Ogden Kiwanis Club, where she served on the executive board and supported many local service initiatives.
In her later years, Betty found joy and companionship in her “gentlemen friends” across the street. Together, they attended concerts, plays, community events, and shared many meals and holidays– creating lasting memories and deep bonds or loving friendship.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to her many “Angel” friends who have helped her over the years, including the South Ogden Police and Paramedics, and her care team from Symbii and Cornerstone.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Betty’s life was one of unwavering love, selfless service, and joyful friendship. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
