Barbara Rawson Dalpias

Barbara Rawson Dalpias, 90, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. She was born on October 5, 1934, to James Eldin Rawson and Mary Westergard in Ogden, Utah. Her father passed away when she was just 9 years old, and she was lovingly raised by her stepfather, Lyall Bishop. Barbara grew up in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School, and later attended Weber State College.
On November 7, 1954, Barbara -married Ernest Dalpias in Ogden, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on June 10, 1969. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life. Her legacy also includes a rich heritage-both within the LDS Church, dating back to 1831, and in Colonial America, where her 8th great-grandfather founded the Old South Church in Boston in 1669.
Barbara and Ernie spent many winters in St. George, where they built many lifelong friendships. She was employed as a Food Service Manager at the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind, where she later retired. One of Barbara’s greatest joys was making quilts and crafting, often sharing these talents with others. She was also an avid reader.
Barbara is survived by her four sons and one daughter: Allan (Linda) Dalpias of North Ogden; Peggy {Kent) Wilson of Willard; Mike (Gayle) Dalpias of Harrisville; Rodney (Penny) Dalpias of Ogden; and Kevin (Susan) Dalpias, who is currently serving an LDS mission in Sydney, Australia. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her younger sister, Marsha (Bob) James of North Ogden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her beloved twin sister, Beverly Kennedy. Barbara was also preceded by a great-grandson, Logan Dalpias, and a great-granddaughter, Ella Wilson. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Our House Assisted Living Center and lntermountain Health Hospice for their care and support.
Barbara’s graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Boulevard, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah.
