Gordon Kendall Madsen

Gordon Kendall Madsen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on July 17, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Moroni, Utah to Theron and Thelma Bradley Madsen and was raised in Spring City, Utah. He graduated from North Sanpete High School and attended Snow College and later graduated from Weber State with a bachelor’s degree in education. He spent his teaching career at Highland Junior High. He married his sweetheart, Eileen Anderson on June 1, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including a mission with his wife, Eileen, in the Australia Sydney North Mission where he served as a Branch President.

He is survived by his dear wife, Eileen Madsen; children, Janet (Daniel) Haskell, Kendall (Karen) Madsen, Kathy (Nader) Mikhail, Karen (Leland) Barker, Tod (Jennette) Madsen, Scott (Nikki) Madsen, Linda (Jason) O’Driscoll; 37 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; sister Maureen Johnson; in-laws Norman (Jeannie) Anderson, John (Gerene) Anderson, Julie Heywood, Ralph (Juliann) Anderson, Carol (Richard) Holbrook.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce (Dawna) Madsen, Donnell (Patti) Madsen, sister Gaye Lynne (Phil) Miller, in-laws Norman and Fawn Anderson, brothers-in-law Mick Johnson, and J.C. Heywood.

Gordon’s life was a testament to his dedication to service, love for his family, and unyielding faith. His memory will forever be reflected in the countless lives he touched.

Viewings will be held Friday July 25, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the North Ogden 8th Ward building at 1150 East 2600 North, North Ogden, Utah, and Saturday, July 26th from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 :00 a.m.
