Belva Jackson Richman

Belva Jackson Richman passed from this life with her family by her side on Friday, June 6, 2025, from metastatic breast cancer. Mom fought hard for 2 1/2 years to be with us, she loved all her family and will be deeply missed. Mom was born on September 11, 1945, to Isabell Jones Jackson and Elmo Jackson. She was the 8th child born to her parents and the only one born in a hospital. Mom grew up in Randolph, Utah. She was adventurous, loved the outdoors and loved horseback riding on her favorite horse Midge in her early years–she even taught Midge a few tricks.
In August 1968 she met her love, DeLoy Richman, at the County Fair in Randolph.
DeLoy was working on the new Woodruff Dam at the time. On May 16, 1969, they married. From that day on they traveled all over the western states for dad’s work going to different construction projects, making many friends along the way. They always made their way back to Randolph and Layton between projects making their home in each place. Mom and dad both enjoyed fishing, hunting, canning and supporting their children in any sporting event or activity that they were participating in. Mom coached me in softball and soccer for many years, winning many leagues and tournaments along the way.
Mom loved to help others, she was always cooking meals, taking neighbors grocery shopping, to doctor appointments or out to lunch. She was a woman of service, if anyone needed help, mom was there to help. She was always giving to others even when she wasn’t feeling well. She was kind and caring to everyone.
Mom’s greatest blessing was when she became a grandma, she loved caring for and helping Arabella with anything she needed. She was so proud of Arabella.
Belva is survived by her husband, DeLoy Richman; son, Cody Richman; daughter, Connie (Matthew) Preece; and granddaughter, Arabella Richman. Her sisters, Karma Gilmore, Myrtle (Loren) Martin; sisters-in-law, Gayle H Richman, Margaret Lofthouse; Brother, Elmo (Judy) Jackson; brother-in-law, Gayle (Linda) Richman; and many nieces and nephews.
Belva was preceded in death by her parents Elmo and Isabell Jackson, Lyle and Irell Richman; sisters, Marjorie (Lloyd) Gilmore and Ada Jackson; brothers, Marvin Jackson, Morgan Jackson; brothers-in-law, Fred Gilmore, Jerome Richman, Clynn (Winifred) Richman and Joyner Lofthouse.
