Thomas Charles Moeglein

Thomas “Tom” Charles Moeglein, 81, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Tom was born on June 12, 1944, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Charles and Agnes Moeglein. In 1962, he joined the U.S. Air Force, beginning a proud and dedicated 30-year career that took him across the country and around the world. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from Hill Air Force Base, a testament to his leadership and service.
On June 15, 1965, Tom married his sweetheart, Lois. Together they raised two sons–Brian, born in Taiwan, and Scott, born in Florida–as they moved with Tom’s military assignments.
Tom was a man of many talents and interests. A meticulous and passionate woodworker, he also loved music and enjoyed playing the organ. He had a lifelong love for Harley Davidsons, enjoyed target shooting, and cherished time spent over coffee with his wide circle of friends. He had a unique ability to bring people together and was admired for his warmth, humor, and generosity.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Duke; granddaughter Kaitlyn Wayment (Josh); and great-grandchildren Phoenix and Maverick Wayment, Riley Knutson, and Jaxon Rattner.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Father James Moeglein; his sister, Kathleen, his beloved wife, Lois; his sons, Brian and Scott; and his granddaughter Jennifer.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Prior to services a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 am. Interment will be at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, craftsmanship, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
