Janet Rebecca “Becky” Olson (Bird)
Janet Rebecca “Becky” Olson (Bird), 73, passed away on March 3, 2025, in South Ogden, Utah.
Becky was born on June 1, 1951, in Brigham City, Utah, to Russell Dan Bird and Alice Jennine Jensen. She grew up in various locations across the United States and El Salvador and graduated from Box Elder High School before pursuing higher education at Weber State University. There, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry.
A woman of many talents, Becky found joy in gardening, bonsai, horseback riding, rockhounding, attending her daughters various sporting events, and reading. She was known for her dedication as a loving mother and a devoted friend. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her faith was an important part of her life.
Becky is survived by her brother Russell David Bird; her daughters Kaylene D (Travis) Meyerhoffer, Jaclyn “Jacki” (Kellen) Waite, and Wendy (Steven) Olson-Empey; and her beloved grandchildren Jesse and Tiana Meyerhoffer and Keaton and Preslee Waite. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband Claude Kimball “Kim” Olson.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at two viewings: the first on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Mortuary (845 S Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84404), and the second on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Brigham City Cemetery (300 E 300 S, Brigham City, UT 84302). A luncheon for family and friends will be held afterward at the church meetinghouse located at 4100 W 900 S St., Ogden, UT 84404.
A special thanks to all the many caregivers at Inspiration Hospice and Hidden Valley Assisted living where she made many friends that loved her dearly.
Becky’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
