Lillian A. Jensen Bradbury
August 3, 1933 – February 27, 2025
Cedar City, Utah –
Lillian Andersen Jensen Bradbury passed away peacefully at her daughter Ann’s home in Cedar City, Utah, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Lillian was born on August 3, 1933, in Evans, Utah (at home) to Emil and Cleo (Andreasen) Andersen. She spent her youth in Evans, Bear River City, and Tremonton. She graduated from Bear River High School with the Class of ’51.
Lillian married Leo Allen Jensen on September 22, 1952, in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised 11 children; two others died at birth. She wanted to be a mother of 4 (2 boys and 2 girls), but after having four girls first, before her first son, she decided she would need three more boys–and so–she did have 4 boys and 9 girls all together. She wanted to stay home to raise them, and she did. She could cook, clean, and sew most of their clothes, and shared her talents with many neighbors and friends.
She loved the Lord first and foremost and was a Relief Society President three different times (3 wards) two in Brigham and one in Centerville; and had many other callings that strengthened her desire to love everyone! With her husband Allen, they served missions in Brigham City–for Family Search and for the Bishop’s Pantry.
When Allen died in 2011, she became very lonely for companionship and asked her home teacher, Keith Bradbury if he could help her find an on-line site so she could get a “boyfriend.” To which Keith responded, “What about me?” and said if he took her on three dates, would she consider marrying him? He took her to the Box Elder County Fair, then to the Ogden Walkway in Ogden, and the last ‘date’ was to the Logan Temple to do sealings. Mom said she told him after the temple ‘date’ that if he would have taken her to the temple on the first ‘date’, she would have said “yes” right away! The temple was her very favorite place to be! Throughout her life, she went at least once a week (‘dates’ with Allen) and then, more times after the Brigham Temple opened. She also sewed and stitched Temple aprons for anyone. They were so beautiful!
She enjoyed her large and growing large family. She came from a family with 12 children, she was #9, so it seemed natural to have a lot of children around.
Lillian and Allen moved a lot, because of Allen’s work. It became a ‘habit’ to move! We believe she lived in more than 40+ places in her 91½ years!
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, nine of her 12 siblings: Stan, Voy, June, Elna, Theo, Florence, Phyllis, Verl, and Reed; her first husband: Leo Allen Jensen; two daughters: Ruth Christilaw and Cleo Jensen; one son: Frank A. Jensen; two granddaughters: Jennifer Cheshire and Tamra Cox; two sons-in-law: Shawn Draayer and Robert Christilaw; and many, many friends.
She is survived by her husband: Keith Bradbury and his children: Jim Bradbury, Ray Bradbury, Diane Shurtleff, and Travis L. Bradbury; two siblings: Erma Poulsen and Lynn E. Andersen.
Lillian’s surviving children are: Esther (Lester) Cheshire, Ann (Kim) Jeppsen, Carrie (Joel) Eberhard, Beth (Phil) Jeppsen, Paul Allen (Tammy) Jensen, Miriam Draayer, Amy (ex-Bruce) Jenkins, Joel David (Angie) Jensen, Sally (Johnny) Golding and Travis Lynn (Thong) Jensen; 56 grandchildren; and over 100+ great-grandchildren!
Thank you to Keith Bradbury and family for all the kindness that was shown to her and to the Hospice Care givers in Brigham City, West Jordan, and Cedar City and much love for Cariann and Brett and Hannah Brady, and Ann and Kim Jeppsen for opening their homes to her these last six weeks (she thought she was living in a very nice assisted living place! And she was!)
