With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved man, Johnny Dee Loftus, who was born on April 7, 1945, in Ogden, UT, and passed away on March 22, 2025. Johnny, known for his adventurous spirit, funny nature, dedicated service, and being a reliable pillar of strength, will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Johnny was a man who lived his life to the fullest. From the beautiful landscapes of Ogden to the lakes and valleys of the Rocky Mountains, Johnny found joy in every corner of his world. He was a committed supervisor at Hill Air Force Base, where he was recognized with numerous awards for his leadership. Following his retirement from H.A.F.B. he began working at Sportman’s Warehouse. He enjoyed many hobbies, which ranged from hunting, fishing, and trap shooting, to camping, boating, and golfing. Johnny was also a green thumb and took immense pride in his heirloom tomato garden. He like to travel, and he relished in the new experiences and adventures it brought.

Johnny was a man who put his family first and found his greatest joy in the smiles of his wife, children, and grandchildren. His wife Margie (Midge) Loftus was his rock, and his children, Tina (Craig) Olsen and Brett Loftus (Charlene Lowder), were his pride. He was also held dear by his grandchildren, Casey, Colter, Hannah, Quincee, and a great-grandson, Charlie, three siblings, Faye, Darrell, Blaine. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Loftus and four siblings, Boyd, Dale, Karen, Brent.

A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden. The family will meet with friends from 10-11 am prior to the service.
