Ronald (Ron) Kiyoshi Kano

May 26, 2025

April 15, 1948 – April 29, 2025.

Ronald (Ron) Kiyoshi Kano, 77, passed away at his home in Clovis, California on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Ron was born in Ogden, Utah on April 15, 1948, to Masayuki and Shizue Cecile Nisogi Kano. He was the first of five children.

He graduated from Box Elder High School in 1966 and attended Utah State University before being drafted into the United States Marine Corps in 1968 and serving in Vietnam. After his Vietnam service, Ron transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve for an additional five years then received an honorable discharge. After serving in Vietnam, his employment with the Fresno, California Internal Revenue Service Center took him to reside in Clovis. He then worked for a couple of produce companies as a computer operator and programmer. Ron’s final employment was with the U.S. Postal Service in Fresno when he retired after twenty-eight years of service.

Ron enjoyed visiting with family, relatives, and friends and was always thinking of and doing things for others. He was an admirer of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe and was a fan of the San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR. He greatly disliked cold weather and had a lifelong dream of living in Hawaii. Though that dream didn’t come true, Ron was happy when he shared time on vacation with family in Maui and Oahu to celebrate his 60th Birthday.

Ron is survived by his brothers and sister, Louie, Karen, and Lawrence, sister-in-law, Wendy Kano, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.

The family would like to welcome family, relatives, and friends to Ron’s graveside service on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Brigham City Cemetery, 300 East 300 South, Brigham City, Utah at 11:00 a.m.
