Teri Diane Baird Hardwick

May 16, 1949 — April 29, 2025
Ogden — Teri Diane Poppleton Baird Hardwick passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1949 in Logan, Utah to Donna Wheeler Poppleton and William “Gib” Stennett Poppleton. Diane grew up in Wellsville and Logan, and always had a special place in her heart for Cache Valley.
Among her treasured childhood memories were the years her parents ran a local confectionery in Wellsville, where Diane and her older brother Gary enjoyed milkshakes made by their mother. She also relished her adventures driving a red 1965 Mustang in high school.
Diane graduated from Sky View High School, and married Ted Baird in 1968. Together they had two children, Julee and Jason, and spent time living in Utah and Colorado. Later in life, Diane was married to Tom Hardwick until his passing in 2016.
A lifelong learner and reader, Diane had an insatiable curiosity and a deep love of books, antiques, and art. She spent many years collecting and selling antiques and rare books, cultivating an extensive knowledge and deep appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Her passion for interior decorating was well-known; she was always seeking the perfectly designed environment, often rearranging furniture late into the night, much to the surprise of her family the next morning. Her sense of humor and creative spirit will be missed.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Julee Baird; her son, Jason Baird; grandsons Alex Stromquist, Nathan (Elisa) Baird, Jonathan Baird, and Andrew Baird; and great-granddaughter Lilith Ballesteros Baird. She is also survived by her brothers: Gary Poppleton, Sid (Linda) Poppleton, and Todd (Audrey) Poppleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hardwick, her grandson, William Stromquist, her sister-in-law, Mary Poppleton, and her parents, Donna and William “Gib” Poppleton.
