Delbert was born on November 10, 1941, in Preston, Idaho to Delbert and Sara Jensen. He grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.

He retired from Hill Air Force Base after more than 38 years of dedicated federal service. For many years, he enjoyed being the live-in caretaker at the Eagles Lodge Campground in Huntsville, where he made lifelong friends and countless memories. In his later years, he especially loved working alongside family at Brians Canvas, a place that brought him purpose, laughter, and pride.

Delbert married his high school sweetheart, Cherry Brian, on May 4, 1960. Their marriage was blessed with four children. He adored making her smile and spent their life together doing exactly that. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and the family’s yearly hunting trips. His sense of humor and knack for adventure were well known–most famously when a hunting trip a few years ago turned into a news story after he wandered a bit too far, prompting search crews and a headline that still makes the family laugh.

Delbert is survived by his loving wife, Cherry Brian Jensen; his sons, Kenneth (Deanne) Jensen and Mike (Anna) Jensen; his son-in-law, Shayne Hipwell, husband of his late daughter Shelly and his 11 grandchildren, He also leaves behind his 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Fred (Launa) Jensen.

He is preceded in death by; his children, Shelly Hipwell and Debra Jensen; grandchildren Kelly Shelman, Anthony Kuni, and Michael Jensen; a great-grandson, Skylor Orawiec; his parents, Delbert H. Sr. and Sara Jensen and a sister, Ollie Jean Smitheram.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 pm.

Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
