Doreen Davis
April 24, 1955 – October 26, 2025
North Salt Lake — Doreen Alice Davis.
Born in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire to Mahlon Whitney and Doris Alice Messier Davis, Doreen was the second of five surviving siblings: Erla Sharleen, Mahlon Dale (Debra), Gary Albert (Shauna), Michelle Francine Bemis (Mark), Clayton Whitney (Nancy), and Doreen’s only child, Joel Michael Davis.
After a long, heroic battle with dementia, and with a song in her heart till the very end, Doreen passed away quietly in her sleep during the morning of October 26th.
Doreen will always be lovingly remembered by friends and family for her fascination with the arts, love of animals, joy of wilderness adventure, being a boundless traveler, her tireless pursuit of higher education, and mostly, for being endlessly kind and devoted to all she knew and loved. Doreen was that unique type of person you couldn’t help but like.
In the late 1980’s, Doreen and her young son Joel relocated from New England to the State of Utah, where she created a new life for them both. Doreen soon started a long and fulfilling career with, and eventually retired from, Weber State University. In her retirement, Doreen traveled across the country extensively, often visiting with friends and family along her trek. As those who have had the privilege to experience this will well understand, staying along the coast of Maine seemed to be Doreen’s happiest time, enjoying many extended walks along the beach.
Our gratitude goes out for the dedicated people at Country Home Assisted Living and how much they gave for Doreen.
We all miss you, Doreen.
