Barbara Emily Christensen

Barbara Emily Christensen, born June 25, 1941, to Lee Harold and Emily Elizabeth Dabb Thompson, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. She grew up in Harrisville, Utah, where she attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School in 1959. Barbara met the love of her life, Gary Boyd Christensen, and they were married on July 8, 1960, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Barbara and Gary were blessed with five sons, who were the joy of her life. She devoted herself to her family, creating a warm and loving home filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories. Barbara worked as a librarian at Pioneer Elementary, where her kindness, patience, and love of learning touched the lives of countless students and teachers. She was talented in many ways–an excellent cook, a skilled seamstress, and well-known for the beautiful hats she made for family and friends. Her creativity, gentle humor, and thoughtfulness made her beloved by all who knew her. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara served willingly in many callings and was an example of quiet service, steadfast faith, and enduring love.

Barbara’s family expresses deep gratitude for her life of love, service, and faith. Her influence will be felt for generations to come. She is survived by her children, Thayne (Cheryl) of Calgary, Canada, Troy (Angela) of Helena, MT, Nathan (Danica) of Harrisville, Ryan (Cynthia) of Syracuse and Blair (Amy) of Harrisville; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren. And siblings Elaine (Doug-deceased), Richard (Karen), and Bruce. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Norman, Ronald, and Lynn and her loving husband Gary. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 10th from 6-8 p.m. at Misty Meadows Ward, 2360 N. 600 W. Harrisville, UT. And a viewing will be at the church Saturday, October 11th at Misty Meadows Ward prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Funeral will be live streamed on Myers Mortuary website. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Auberge, A Plus Hospice, and all those who offered medical care and support for the tender love and kindness they showed to Barbara.
