Frank Randolph Rounds III

In Loving Memory of My Brother
Frank Randolph Rounds III, born December 6, 1941, left us for the big ski hill in the sky on August 24, 2025. His father was Frank Randolph Rounds II and his mother was Beth Francis.
He attended Grandview Elementary then went onto Washington Jr. High where he pitched baseball for the 1952 Midget Baseball National League Champions. He pitched for the Trojan Warriors in the Ogden City Jr. League, the All Star League Trojans. In 1956 his team won the Ogden City Jr. League Championships, in 1957 he pitched for the Ogden South Legion, State Champs. He played basketball for the Washington Jr. High League. He also played football for the Washington Jr. High League where he kicked the first successful 15 yd. goal in Jr. High history. Frank played basketball for the Ogden High School Tigers. He graduated in 1960 from Ogden High School.
He learned to ski at Snow Basin Ski Resort and later became a ski instructor under the direction of Earl Miller, who ran the Ski School. He loved working with and for the Miller family.
In the 60’s he moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. He became a ski instructor for the Sun Valley Ski School, under the direction of Sigi Engl and Sepp Froehlich. He also bartended at the Alpine Bar and the Casino Bar. His next adventure was working for The Ski Company under Dean Perkins, Bob Burns and Gary Jacobsen, who started that renowned company manufacturing skis. Later on, Gary asked him to go on the road as a The Ski Co. Rep travelling and selling The Ski. Frank loved this job and brought home crazy funny stories to Mom and Dad of life on the road!! He deeply loved Ketchum and the many many friends with him there in the 60’s and 70’s. “Those were the days he’d say”, The best of times for us all.
He was preceded in death at the age of 9, by his Father Frank in 1952, his beautiful Sister Beckey Argyle in 1964, his stepfather Dallas White, who took our family in and raised us, in 1997 and his Mother Beth, “our Rock”, in 2018. He is survived by his sister Ruth Rounds-Brunker who will miss him with all her heart and will find it hard to forgive him for leaving so soon.
A memorial service will be held on Oct. 27, 2025 at Noon in Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St. Ogden, Utah, where family and friends are invited to gather in a celebration of his life.
Myself, my cousins and the Brunker family wish to thank the Ogden Regional Medical Center, Mt. Ogden Health and Rehabilitation Center, CNS Hospice caregivers Laura and Deanna for their kindness and care of Frank. His “Pal”, Margie Becker, whom he depended on for many things..some being cookies and Whoppers!..but mostly keeping him level headed. He introduced me to Bonnie Quinn from Smith’s. She helped him with many of his financial chores, and his digital shopping! But he loved their spiritual discussions, that was their special bond. Frank loved Jesus and often spoke of “The Rapture”. He so wanted to be here when this happens..now he will be in it, with Jesus.
I’ll miss you Frank.
