Reed Leavitt

Plain City — Reed Lemmon Leavitt, 84, of Plain City, Utah, passed away on September 17, 2025. Born on November 28, 1940, in Rigby, Idaho, to Jesse and Alta Leavitt, Reed lived a vibrant life filled with adventure, hard work, and deep connections.
Reed married Charlotte McCraw on May 2, 1964, sharing a life of love until her passing. They made their home in Layton, Utah, for 47 years, building cherished memories with family and friends. A proud graduate of Rick’s College, Reed spent most of his career as a Plant Manager for DFG (Damn Fine Goggles, Scott & Smith goggles), where his leadership and warmth earned him many lifelong friends in the outdoor gear industry. Reed loved camping under the stars, skiing snowy slopes, golfing with buddies, cheering for the Utah Jazz, and, above all, hanging out with family and friends, where his laughter and kindness shone brightest.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Leavitt; his daughter, Kelly (Dustin) Perry; his three grandsons, Bryce (Whitney) Perry, Brayden Perry, and Ashton Perry; and his sister, Laree VanTreeck. He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte McCraw Leavitt; his son, Jon Leavitt; his parents, Jesse and Alta Leavitt; his brothers, Deloy Lemmon and Boyd Leavitt; and his sister, Lorna Leavitt Bell.
A celebration of Reed’s life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the family’s home in Plain City.
