Ronald Henry Erickson

We give our heartfelt tribute to the life of Ronald Henry Erickson, known affectionately by those who loved him as Ron Boy or Ronnie. Born on September 15, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ronald passed away on September 16, 2025. His 88 years were a testament to a life lived with kindness, wit, and an abiding love for his family and friends.
Ronald was a charismatic soul, whose wit and humor endeared him to everyone he encountered. His loving nature was a beacon that drew people towards him. As a devoted husband to his late wife, Georgia, whom he married on June 17, 1958, he was a pillar of support to his beloved until her last breath. He was a proud father to his children Kelly, Tracy, and Brad, whom he nurtured with thoughtful guidance and unwavering love. As someone once said, “The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature,” and Ronald Erickson was indeed a masterpiece.
Ronald’s professional life was marked by accomplishment and service. He began his career as a Sales Representative for Colgate Palmolive in Utah and Los Angeles. He came back home to Ogden and had a long career as a partner of Hone Oil. After his retirement from Hone Oil, he had a short and very successful career in real estate.
Ron’s leadership qualities shone through his presidency at the Ogden Exchange Club and his tenure as a board member for the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce Board, Weber State University Wildcat Athletic Club, and the Ogden Golf and Country Club. However, it was his hobbies and the joy he found in life that truly defined him. Ron and Georgia enjoyed many winter seasons in Oceanside, California. An avid golfer, he achieved the remarkable feat of five holes-in-one. He never missed a game or activity of his children or grandchildren, even coaching his son Brad’s many sports. He loved skiing, playing tennis, doing yard work, and traveling. Yet, his biggest joy was his family, which he cherished above all else. He especially enjoyed family trips to Laguna Beach and Flaming Gorge.
Ronald Erickson leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. He is survived by his children and their partners, Kelly (Robert) Jones, Tracy (Brad) Kapple, and Brad (Andrea) Erickson, 10 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Georgia Erickson, his parents, Henry and Ethel Erickson, two sisters, Norma Dunn and Betty Stephens, and a great-granddaughter.
Ron’s life will be honored at a graveside service on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11 AM at Washington Heights Memorial Park, located at 4600 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, 84403.
Let us remember Ronald Erickson, a man of wit, love, thoughtfulness, and support, as we celebrate his life. We invite you to share your memories and upload photos of Ronald to his memorial page, to help us commemorate the life of this extraordinary man. As we bid farewell to Ronald, we hold onto the words of Helen Keller, “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.”
