Richard “Rich” Omer Quilty, 68, of Ogden, Utah passed away on April 5, 2026. Rich was born on March 4, 1958, in Rock Island, Illinois. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and Army as a medical technician and continued his life of service as a CNA in various hospitals and care facilities, where his compassion and dedication touch many lives.
Rich had a deep love for learning and was always pursuing new knowledge. Whether studying in the medical field or exploring culinary arts, he could often be found taking classes at OWATC, driven by curiosity and a desire to grow. He brought that same passion into his home. where he created countless memories with his two daughters-often pretending he had his own Food Network show while cooking alongside them.
He had a special talent for restoring furniture and a true appreciation for fine wood, with mahogany being his favorite, Rich also loved creating a home theater experience for his family, turning ordinary nights into something memorable through movies, laughter, and shared meals.
An outdoorsman and at heat, Rich enjoyed fishing and spending time in nature, especially family picnics in Huntsville, Utah. One of his greatest joys was pushing his children and grandchildren-who lovingly called him “P.A.P.A.’- on the sings, always aiming to reach the top of the pine trees.
Rich will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his warm smile that could light up any room, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. He loved people deeply and had a gift for making everyone feel seen, welcomed and valued.
Rich is survived by his lifelong friend, Callene Mund; his daughter Margaret Ashley, son-in-law Adam Curtis Williams; daughter Audra McCall, and his beloved grandchildren: Kiana Brinn, David Kade, Levi Bridger, Faiz B.
