Jean McEntire Coleman

1931 – 2026

Jean McEntire Coleman, 94 passed on April 10, 2026 of dementia and returned to her Heavenly Father. She was born on October 11, 1931 in Pacific Groves, California with her twin sister, Joan. Her parents were Howard Witten McEntire and Bessie Eva Woodward. She lived in Roy, Utah during her school years until graduation.

She married George Walker Kirkpatrick on January 23, 1952. Being a military wife, she lived in many different states and countries. They later divorced. She married Harold Fred Coleman on November 26, 1976 in Roy, Utah. He was the love of her life. He died on November 5, 1992.

She worked in various payroll department jobs, including Weber School District for 10 years and a couple other jobs in Seattle, Washington when her husband worked at Boeing.

Jean was a very loving, caring and compassionate mother with her 4 children. She was always there when needed and was loved very much by everyone she met.

She moved back to Monte Vista in Roy for several years. She moved to Fairfield Village in 2021. Recently in January, she moved to Parkview Memory Care in Fairfield Village. This is where she passed. She was cared for by Inspiration Hospice. Thank you so much to Angie, Silvana, Kasey, Chayton and many others both in Hospice and Assisted Living. Everyone was so loving and caring, when it was needed.

Mom loved genealogy, family search and going to the temple with friends. She loved knitting and crocheting. She was a master at jigsaw puzzles and crytoquotes. She loved to read, watch old westerns and all animals. She also loved to travel and play golf. She especially loved her family and all the grandchildren that kept coming.

We all love you and will miss you.

Jean is survived by her 4 children – Stephanie Starrett, St. George; Cynthia Hoskins, West Point; Michael (Marilyn) Kirkpatrick, Las Vegas; Martin (JaNette) Kirkpatrick, Las Vegas, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Coleman; sisters Norma (Louis) Bonomo, Joan (Boyd) Parker; brother Donald (Francis) McEntire; sons-in law Dennis Hoskins and Austin Whitmer; great grandson Sloan E. Deane.

Viewing is at 9:30 am on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Funeral following at 11:00 am at Myers Mortuary at 5865 S. 1900 W., Roy 84067. Interment at Roy Cemetery 5250 S. 2300 W.
