Rebecca Larson
December 21, 1952 – March 31, 2026
Phoenix — Surrounded by her family, Rebecca Beth Larson, age 73, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Rebecca was born on the Winter Solstice in Redwood City, California, and grew up in Ogden, Utah. She lived a life rooted in homemaking, family, and quiet strength. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Ross Larson, with whom she shared a deep and enduring partnership.
She is survived by her brother Curtis Williams and her three daughters, Melissa Dawn Williams-Davis, Elisabeth Courtney Larson, and Noel Casteel Larson Ford, who were her greatest pride and joy. She was also a devoted grandmother to Scott Anthony Davis and Kennedy Casteel Ford, cherishing every moment spent with them and the happiness they brought into her life.
Rebecca lived an active and vibrant life, finding joy and success in nearly everything she tried. From billiards and darts to skiing, softball, tennis, and golf, she brought a competitive spirit to the game and loved beating the guys. She especially excelled in golf, winning numerous amateur tournaments and achieving the rare accomplishment of three hole-in-ones. She also loved watching sports, often planning her days around game times. Football held a special place in her heart, and as a diehard Raiders fan to the very end, she never missed an opportunity to ruthlessly cheer on her team.
Rebecca was the quieter presence beside her husband’s gregarious nature, but she was often the one making things happen behind the scenes, thoughtful of the details, and adding her magic touch along the way. She was deeply creative, a talented seamstress, and an exceptional cook. Her desserts, especially her pies, were unforgettable. She made jewelry, Christmas ornaments, outfits for all of her girls, and had a remarkable ability to transform just about anything into the perfectly sized container. Through the things she created and the meals she prepared, she expressed a quiet but unmistakable love that will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Above all, she will be remembered for her razor-sharp wit, resilience, and strength. Her daughters will forever carry with them the lessons she taught and the love she showed.
A memorial service will be held in Hailey, Idaho, during the Trailing of the Sheep Festival in early October 2026. Family and friends will gather along the Big Wood River, honoring a cherished family tradition as they celebrate her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
