Glen Rawson
August 9, 1953 – March 28, 2026
Oro Valley — Glen Adrian Rawson 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Oro Valley Arizona on March 28, 2026. He was born August 9, 1953 in Ogden Utah to Adrian Glen Rawson and Dorothea Gabler Rawson.
He was a poet, a loving husband of 42 years, a wonderful father, brother and uncle, a great cook, a vegetarian, a self taught investor, a friend, animal lover and the best companion.
He had an excellent sense of humor and believed in helping others.
Growing up in Kanesville Utah, he loved fishing and camping. Most of his time was spent outside. After graduating from Roy High School in 1971, Glen decided he wanted to see more of the country so he bought a Greyhound bus pass and a backpack. That first trip gave him many stories to tell and a lifelong love of travel.
He explored more of the US and Canada, then Europe and made a trip around the world through Asia and India on the “Hippie Trail”. After each successive trip, he would return to Utah and find a job in one of the local restaurants. Then he worked hard and saved money while he planned his next adventure.
In 1981 he was planning a trip to South America when he met Kathey Riggs, the lucky lady who would be his wife and spend the rest of his life by his side. They had two daughters Heather Alemo (Micki) and Ray Rawson. Together they lived in the United Kingdom, New Mexico, South Carolina, Baltimore Maryland and Arizona.
Glen continued to travel after retirement. He drove coast to coast and back one summer and to Alaska the next. He explored Egypt, Jordan, China, Kenya, Ireland, The Netherlands, Italy and made another trip around the world. Now his last adventure begins.
Glen chose a green burial at Marana Cemetery in Marana Arizona. He was interred April 6, 2026.
He is also survived by his sister Joan Roholt, her son James Roholt and many other nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local food bank or animal shelter.
