Karen Russell
With love and remembrance, we celebrate the life of Karen Russell, a remarkable mother and wife. Born in Ogden, Utah, on March 8, 1953, she came into this world as Karen Skeen and left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered throughout her 73 years. Karen, a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, made her home a haven of warmth and love, a trait she carried with her wherever she resided, from Casper, Wyoming, to Pleasant View, Utah.
Karen was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. She was deeply involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Relief Society, Young Women’s, and Primary. Her faith guided her in all aspects of her life and she lived by the scripture found in Mosiah 2:17, “When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”
Karen was the heart and soul of her family, which was her greatest joy and what mattered most to her. She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Russell, whom she married on September 9, 1976, and their children, Clayton (Becca), Morgan (Matt) and Halsey. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret Skeen. Her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to live on through her family and those who knew her.
