Some people measure life in years. Bonnie Dilley measured it in adventures, campfires, family gatherings, and the memories made along the way.

Bonnie Jean Wheeler Dilley, 79, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on April 14, 1947, in Roy, Utah, Bonnie was the daughter of Lee and Evelyn Wheeler. She grew up with an adventurous spirit and a kind heart, qualities that would guide her throughout her life.

Nearly sixty years ago, a young Airman named Jerry Dilley pulled up beside her at a stoplight in Ogden and asked, “Is that your daddy’s car?” For reasons only she could explain, she said yes to a date. That simple conversation became the beginning of a remarkable life together.

Bonnie and Jerry built a marriage filled with love, laughter, hard work, and adventure. Together they raised two sons, Kevin and Shawn, and created a lifetime of memories through camping, traveling, photography, motorcycles, and exploring wherever the next road would take them.

Bonnie devoted her entire career to Hill Air Force Base, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those who knew her for her dependability, kindness, and quiet strength.

Bonnie believed life was meant to be lived. She was the organizer of family life. Whether she was planning the next adventure, sitting around a campfire, searching for rocks and fossils, or simply spending time with the people she loved, she embraced every opportunity to make memories. Home was wherever family and Boots, her beloved cat, gathered.

Of all the roles she held in life, her favorite was Grandma. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren. Her love was steady, generous, and unconditional.

Bonnie is survived by her sons, Kevin and wife Kelly, Shawn and wife Tiffani; her grandchildren, Garrett (Sahtara Hadley), Keaton (Tailie Jorgensen), Cade (Kaitlynn Smith), and Taylar (Kevin Basgall); her great-grandchildren, Wrenley, Weslyn, and Macklyn; along with many extended family members and dear friends who were fortunate to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Dilley; her parents, Lee and Evelyn Wheeler; and her cherished grandson, Zachary Dilley.

She lived this life to the fullest. That is how she will be remembered.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
