Steven Lewis Bishop passed away in Roy, Utah, after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 6, 1951, in Ogden to Howard H and Charlene Lewis Bishop. He attended Weber County schools, graduating from Bonneville High School in 1970.

Steve joined the Navy in 1971, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He served on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in the Mediterranean Sea. He was honorably discharged in 1977. After the Navy, Steve went to work at Hill Air Force Base in maintenance, retiring in 2008 after 30 years of service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends. He was a member of the gun club and earned many awards for his trap shooting. He was an active member of the American Legion in Clearfield and had many friends there.

Steve was married to Geri Bishop and had one son, Chad. They later divorced. He then married Terrie Bishop. They spent many years doing things they loved, but they also divorced.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, both ex-wives, a granddaughter, Shaylee Ovard, and his brother, Darrell.

He is survived by his son, Chad (April) Bishop, two granddaughters, Baylee and Adrian, and a great-granddaughter, Rose. He is also survived by his sister, Diana (Larry) Ruple and numerous cousins and nephews.

Thank you to the nurses and case workers with Ovation Hospice for their care. A special thanks to April for her dedication and loving care she provided Steve.

As per Steve’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will be held at American Legion in Clearfield on Aug 16th, from 2-4pm Honor Guard will be done at 3pm.
