Richard Clay Laramee, 95, died August 24, 2026.

Born December 6, 1930, Richard was an aerospace engineer whose 40-year career with Thiokol Corporation included work on solid-propellant rocket motors and programs associated with NASA and the Space Shuttle. He was a co-inventor on a U.S. patent for a compact rocket thrust nozzle and 40-year member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Richard was active in Presbyterian congregations in Ogden and Brigham City as an elder, deacon, choir member, and fundraiser. He enjoyed skiing, traveling, watching movies, plays, and concerts. He is survived by his children, Brian Laramee and Elaine Laramee (Rob Harrigan), and grandchildren Jack and Rory Harrigan, as well as his extended family.

A memorial service for Richard will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, 122 S. 300 E., Brigham City, Utah, 84302. A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. before the service at the church. A private graveside service will follow at Eden Cemetery in Eden, Utah.
