LaReah June Wright

Feb 6, 2026

1931 ~ 2026

LaReah June Wright passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Layton, Utah, at the age of 94.

June was born on May 23, 1931, to Velma Clontz Jones in Clinton, Utah, and was the oldest of five siblings.

June lived a long life marked by devotion to family, resilience through hardship, and quiet strength. She was an amazing artist, homemaker, cook, baker, and caregiver, and she loved tending to her gardens. She was loved by many and helped shape the lives of all who had the privilege and honor of knowing her.

June grew up in a close family and cherished her aunts and uncles: Helen (Steve) Stevens, Russel (Dorothy) Clontz, Mable (Joe) Clontz, and her Grandma Clontz, along with numerous cousins.

June married the love of her life, Stanley D. Wright, on September 9, 1950. In 1955, they built their home in Roy, where they lived for over 50 years and raised their three sons: Roger S., Nolan E., and Alan D. Their home welcomed friends and family day and night. June and Stan also lovingly tended their Hooper farm over the years, which included raspberries, horses, rabbits, goats, cows, geese and more. The farm became a place of treasured memories for their children and later, their grandchildren. In 2010, June and Stan moved back to Clinton–ironically very close to where she was born.

June loved traveling with her husband and grandchildren, visiting Yellowstone, Arizona, Nevada, Mexico, and beyond. She helped raise all three of her grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren who soon followed, loving every moment. She truly embodied caregiving at its finest.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (2017); her three sons: Roger (1984), Nolan (2015), and Alan (1989); her sisters: Luana (Nolan) Harris (2000) and Barbara (Donald) Clemente (2025); and most recently, her brother Jack (LuJean) Jones (2026).

June’s memory lives on through her surviving family: Three grandchildren–Brandon (Marne) Wright, Rocky (D’Nache) Wright, and Jade (Shannon Richison) Ellis; Six great-grandchildren–Riley Wright; Alan Wright and Jack Wright; Hailee Ellis, Hunter Ellis, and Austin Richison; and her younger brother, Daniel R. (Judy) Jones.

A very special thank you to everyone at Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton, including Hospice, who cared for June in her final years. Our grandma was genuinely loved by all the staff.

Following June’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service, including the placement of her ashes beside her beloved husband Stanley, on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah.
