Julie Eddy Booker

Feb 24, 2026

May 3, 1956 — February 18, 2026

Life is a collection of stories, and mine began in Reno, Nevada, as the youngest child of Douglas Eddy and Audrie Graser. My early years were marked by the loss of my father and sister, but a new chapter began in Willard, Utah, when my mother married Ernest Abel in 1963. Ernie became a pillar in my life, bringing four stepsiblings who rounded out our family circle. At Bear River High, I was a social butterfly in the Pep Club, and in 1972, I had the bittersweet honor of receiving my brother Michael’s diploma after he passed away just before graduation. After earning my cosmetology license in 1976, I found my true calling at McKay Dee Hospital, spending 12 years caring for newborns and mothers.

My greatest story, however, was my 45-year journey with Larry. We were sealed in the Ogden Temple on May 30, 1980. In Clinton, we raised our three children–Darin, Marie, and Emily–who were my greatest joy. My home was my sanctuary, filled with books, gardening, and rescued animals. I loved decorating for every holiday, especially Christmas, when I’d carry on my mother’s tradition of making “highly praised” homemade chocolates. Some of my happiest days were spent in Emily’s classroom helping with activities and parties, always with a treat and drink in hand.

As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I served many callings. I especially loved teaching in the Primary.

After a brave battle with cancer that began in 2024, I passed away on February 18, 2026. I am survived by my husband, Larry; children, Darin (Meagan), Marie (Tony), and Emily; five beloved grandchildren, Milo, Aaron, Waylon, Audrie, and Ava; and a stepbrother. I am now reunited with my parents, stepfather, two brothers, and four sisters.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Arango, Dr. Hansen, and their medical teams, especially Angie, for her guidance, as well as the staff at Ogden Regional for their compassionate care.
