Sherran Gladys Dayton

December 5, 1939 — February 22, 2026
Our elegant and beloved Sherran, 86, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by the family who adored her. Born in Brigham City to Glen and Gladys Roche, she was a woman of rare grace and a truly beautiful soul.
Sherran married her devoted husband, Reed Dayton, in 1960. Together for 65 years, they built a life of faith and family, working side-by-side to grow Dayton Disposal from the ground up into a successful family empire. Sherran was the epitome of class; she expressed her love through exquisite meals and perfectly decorated holidays. No one ever left home without a full belly and warm heart. Whether she was golfing, bowling, or out on a lunch date, she brought signature elegance and a spirited “Whoo-Hoo!” to every occasion.
Her family was her world, and she was their most devoted champion. She lived to be in the stands or the front row, never missing a game, dance recital, or school activity. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always greeting life’s best moments with a playful “Sexy-Sexy!” Her legacy of unconditional love and joyful strength remains the heart of her family.
Sherran is survived by her husband, Reed; children, Rick (Shelly) Dayton, Jacki (Val) Sanders, and Cyndi (Mike) Ames; 11 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and her grandson, Brendon.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
