Samuel Scott Lilly
1984 – 2025
Samuel Scott Lilly was found deceased in his home November 26, 2025. He was born April 21, 1984, in Lewisville, Texas, the youngest of five children. At the age of seven, he moved with his family to Layton, Utah, where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from Layton High School in 2002, participating in the Laytones performing group. He loved music and theatre, played the piano, sang solos and in groups, and took parts in plays at amateur playhouses. Sam enjoyed the Marvel Universe, especially X-men, and shared his mother and father’s love for science fiction and fantasy. He loved people and made many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick (Emily), and survived by his father and mother, Bennie and Denise; his sister, Xochi Minchey (Nathan); and his brothers, Vike (Ali) and Nathan (JaNae); and his nieces and nephews, whom he loved.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 2120 W Gentile St, Layton, UT 84041, in the multi-purpose room. It will be an open-house style wake with light refreshments. Sam’s family will be present to meet guests who arrive any time during the celebration.
