Ricky May

Bilbo’s Declaration: I’m going on an adventure!
It is with profound sadness and shattered hearts that we announce the passing of Rick Dean May, age 78 of Paradise, Utah, on December 27th 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Rick was my partner in every sense, and the person who made everyday feel full of purpose. He was the love of my life, a truly remarkable man, and my best friend. His love showed me how good life could be, and his legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will be carried on by those who knew and adored him.
Born on December 16th 1947 in Lamar Colorado, to William and Marilyn May. Rick lived a life defined by his kindness, unwavering integrity and sense of humor that touched everyone he met. He graduated from Lamar high school and earned a degree in physics from Colorado State University, and later a masters in computer science from the university of Utah. He had a distinguished career as a physicist at Boeing for over 30 years.
Rick had a passion for running, often spending his weekends running the mountain trails. His greatest joy however came from time spent with his family, watching the sunsets or sharing laughter during the holidays.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kim May, their children Rick May Jr, Brandon (Paula) Boydston, Jamie (Josh) Johnstun, Kari (Mark) Izatt, his 10 cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and his sister Shelly.
Though he may be gone from our site, his spirit lives on in our hearts. We are grateful for every minute we had, and we look forward to the day when we can meet again.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
