Shawn J. Winn

Shawn J Winn, 43, of South Ogden, passed away holding his wife’s hand on January 4, 2026. His loss is devastating and leaves a void that words cannot fully capture. He was a loving husband, son, battle buddy, devoted brother, and best friend, and to many, a brother forged through shared sacrifice and unwavering loyalty.
Shawn was born on August 17, 1982, to Jeff Winn and Robin Odell in Ogden, Utah. Shawn proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, completing combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 108th Military Police Company, Airborne/Air Assault. He embodied what it meant to be a Paratrooper and a soldier, courageous, disciplined, selfless, and always willing to place others before himself. A highly decorated war veteran, Shawn served with honor and distinction, earning the respect of all who stood beside him.
In 2016, Shawn married Katrina Peek alongside the Weber River he loved so much. Shawn was a man of deep character, conviction, and heart. He loved dogs and fish, was a protector by nature, and lived by loyalty, integrity, and brotherhood. As a Master Mason, he carried those values into every aspect of his life, quietly serving others and strengthening community bonds wherever he went.
He is survived by his loving wife, his mother, and his family. Shawn will be deeply missed, forever honored, and always remembered.
