Eva W. Preece
Eva Hilton Williamson Preece passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 92. She was born November 24, 1933, daughter of Wilford Lindley Williamson and Mary Ann Hilton Williamson in Wellsville, Utah. Eva was number seven of the 13 children of Wilford and MaryAnn Williamson. She grew up in a two-bedroom house in Wellsville, Utah. She loved to share stories of growing up with her siblings: Wilford, Amelia, John, Clain, Ross, Doris, Arlene, Hannah, George, Della, Roy, and Don. Eva married McClair Preece on October 30, 1950 in Wellsville, Utah. They enjoyed 36 years together camping, fishing, boating, bowling, and dancing before Clair’s passing in 1986. Eva enjoyed 25 years with Glenn Andersen, especially summers spent fishing in Cedar Bay, Idaho before his passing in 2016. Family was Eva’s greatest joy and accomplishment. She was the mother of five children, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She spent many years as a homemaker and serving as a Boy Scout leader. As her children grew up, Eva sought employment at McKay Dee Hospital where she retired after 18 years of service. Eva enjoyed a houseful of family, especially celebrating holidays at her Roy home. But her Easter egg hunts were a favorite among the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved flowers, spending time in nature, and watching the hummingbirds at their feeder from her dining room table. She was very crafty and enjoyed putting together beautiful flower arrangements and crocheting blankets, Christmas stockings, and other treasures. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and rarely missed watching a game. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her 12 siblings, her husband McClair Preece, daughter Rhoda Gail Preece Millard, son Gary Lee Preece, two grandsons; Skyler Keith Preece and Mark McClair Preece, grandson-in-law Travis Bowers, and Glenn Andersen. She is survived by her three sons, Mark Clair Preece (Ogden), Theron Paul Preece (Ogden), and Keith (Anita) D. Preece (Pleasant View), eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
