Glen Edward Davies

Jan 24, 2026

1932 – 2026

Glen Edward Davies, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children in his home on January 20, 2026. Glen was born in Ogden, Utah on December 3, 1932 to Ernest and Dora Davies. He was the youngest of six children. He spent 46 wonderful years in Farr West, Utah, where he was a devoted husband to his wife, Maureen, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage, since their union on July 23, 1971. He attended Weber county schools in his youth. Just after his 18th birthday Glen wanted to serve his country, so he joined the United States Navy. He was quickly shipped off to fight in the Korean War on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. He also served aboard the USS Badoeng Strait while making several oceanic trips to the country of Japan. Later in his life he loved to use the Japanese language to greet his children and grandchildren with a cheerful “Kon’nichiwa”! Glen’s sense of devotion and hard work extended beyond his service in the Navy. While he was in his 20’s and 30’s he worked in the construction industry. He was very proud of his work and told his children about the many buildings and roads he helped to construct in the Ogden area. He eventually retired, after 26 years, as a Material Examiner at the Defense Reutilization Service at Hill Air Force Base. Glen loved being outdoors. Camping, fishing, boating, motorcycling and hunting kept him busy from a young age. He shared this love with all of his family. For many years Glen, and his siblings owned recreation property near Duchesne, Utah. Glen would share his talents for story telling around a campfire at night, and riding his motorcycle as fast as he could during the day. He loved to camp and catch Rainbow Trout at any one of the many lakes in the Uintah Mountains. Glen was a DIY guy through and through. Even though he didn’t have an engineering degree, anyone who knew him, would’ve thought he did. He was constantly repairing, remodeling, or building something. From the double sized tough shed which he designed and built, to the RV shelter, the full-sized garage, to finishing the basement. There isn’t a room in the house, nor a shelf in the garage that doesn’t have a copy of “The Family Handyman” magazine laying around. Glen was a master craftsman in wood-working and welding as well. Anything that involved him using his hands he mastered. He made wooden gifts for family members birthdays and Christmases, such as rocking horses, clocks, and other small wooden themed projects. Glen loved to “garden” with his wife, Maureen. They always had a garden and willingly shared the fruits of their labors with friends and neighbors. He always had mixed feelings about the massive walnut tree that continues to expand in the middle of his back yard. This is because of the thousands of walnuts that covered his yard in autumn. He was able to use this as an opportunity to strengthen bonds with his children and grandchildren while gathering the fruit. Glen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He honored his High Priest ordination, while being an active member of his ward, until his health made it difficult for him to attend. He and Maureen were sealed together in the Ogden, Utah Temple in 1996. Glen has 6 children, 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Above all, Glen cherished his time spent with family. Glen is survived by his wife Maureen, children Valorie Stewart (Brent), Trena Davies, Jayne Davies McComb, Ronald Davies, Richard Davies (Jacqueline), and Roger Davies (Annie). Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11:30am, at the Farr West 2nd Ward Building 1745 N 2300 W, Farr West, Utah. Prior to the service there will be a viewing from 10am – 11am. Interment will be at the Myers Evergreen Memorial Park located at 100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
