Meda Arlene Christensen Murphy, 87, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on July 31, 1938, in Tremonton, Utah, to Hyrum Mads and Rosa Abel Christensen.

Meda married Owen Robert Murphy on March 24, 1959, in Logan, Utah. Together they lived in many places throughout the United States and abroad during Owen’s Air Force career.

A graduate of Fruitland High School, Meda was a skilled homemaker, seamstress, baker, and craftswoman. She excelled in sewing, embroidery, crochet, ceramics, Bunka and Ikebana flower arranging, and enjoyed music throughout her life. She lovingly created her own wedding dress and those of her daughters.

Meda served faithfully in numerous church callings, including Stake Primary President, Ward Young Women’s President, Ward Relief Society President, Choir Director, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. She and her husband served a mission at the Martin’s Cove Handcart Site.

She is survived by her husband, Owen; six children; 18 grandchildren; 17 greatâ€â€™grandchildren; and six sisters. She was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, and her parents, and a daughter-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at Rudd Funeral Home, Tremonton, on July 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with a viewing from 9:00-9:45 AM. Interment will follow at the Tremonton Cemetery.
