Athena “Teena” Stathes Winchester passed peacefully on July 13, 2026, in her home. She was 95 years old. She was born to John P and Tessie T Stathes on May 14, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, the third of four daughters. Teena’s sisters were Sophie Bond (deceased), Elaine Frew (deceased) and Angie Stuart, sister and best friend. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1948. Teena enjoyed working downtown during the 1950’s.

She married Wayne B Winchester in November 1958 in Las Vegas. They were married until Dad passed in January 1987. They raised two boys, David and Ben, in the home they built in South Ogden. Teena was the consummate homemaker and mother. Teena loved her three grandchildren, Parker Rae, Auden, and Heath. She always looked forward to their visits, especially holidays. Teena will be missed by her nieces, Brenda (Bruce) Bain, Jill (John) Carter, and her favorite nephew, Vince (Francie) Stuart. She enjoyed her friends, golf, and hobbies in her long retirement.

A special thanks to Applegate Home Hospice (Kara Jensen) and Amanda Senior Care for helping Mom over the past two years. A very special thanks to Tambi Anderson, the girl next door who treated and cared for Teena like her own family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
