It is with profound sadness that the family of Betty Dalene Baird Ward, age 86, announces her passing on June 13, 2026, following a brief illness. In her final moments, she was surrounded by her beloved posterity. Dalene was born on September 11, 1939, in Ogden, Utah, to Dale DeMearl Baird and Elizabeth Stitt Baird, and was raised in Roy. She graduated from Weber High School in 1957 and from St. Benedict’s School of Nursing in 1960. She devoted 25 years to nursing, retiring in 2005 as a cancer screening nurse with the Utah Department of Health. On August 11, 1961, she married James Noel Ward in the Logan Utah Temple. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings and as a missionary in Nauvoo, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, eight children, 33 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Willard City Cemetery, 470 N Main St, Willard, Utah.
