Garth Earl Jensen
Garth Earl Jensen passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, surrounded by family.
He was born July 25, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to Virginia Chadwick and H. Wayne Jensen. He was the youngest of three children and was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry (Carol) Jensen, and infant sister Judith.
Raised in North Ogden on his grandfather’s farm, Garth developed a lifelong love of the outdoors, hard work, and adventure. Working alongside his family at Wayne’s service stations in Ogden fostered his love of automobiles, mechanic work, and helping others.
Garth graduated from Ben Lomond High School and served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps. In August 1970, he married Patsy L. Stone. They were later sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple and built a life centered on faith, family, service, and hard work.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base until retiring in 2001. Known for his strong work ethic, remarkable memory, and extraordinary eye for detail, Garth could repair anything with an engine and generously shared his talents with others.
He loved gardening, camping, exploring, and spending time outdoors with family and his beloved dogs.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garth served in many callings and, with Pat, completed a four-year Church Service Mission at the Ben Lomond Stake Camp.
Garth will be remembered for his playful spirit, integrity, generosity, determination, and quiet kindness. Above all else, he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Jensen; children Toni (Bart) Cook, Brent (Martha) Jensen, Gwen (Juancarlos) Santisteban, Lora (Matt) Hancock, and Cori Jensen; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Applegate Hospice for the compassionate care and support provided during Garth’s final days.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
